Museum of Fine Arts Package - Once upon a Time Walt Disney

This package includes:

One night stay in one of our cosy comfort room, the continental breakfast delivered to your room, the access to our kitchen for snacks, two tickets for the exhibition Once upon a Time Walt Disney, at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and a surprised gift at your arrival to the museum.

In 1935, Walt Disney and his brother Roy made their first trip to Europe. They returned to the United States with more than 300 illustrated publications, comprising a library of images that would inspire their drawings and creations. The exhibition will present the world of Disney and the sources that inspired it, alongside modern and contemporary works that were influenced by Disney’s creations.

It will bring together some 300 works: original artwork by Disney studio artists, as well as paintings, sculpture, drawings, photographs, film clips and scale models of characters and architecture built by Disney Studios, including the famous castle of Sleeping Beauty. By bringing works from the Disney Studios together with western European artworks ranging from the Middle Ages to Surrealism, the show will reveal ties not only with painting and printmaking but also with literature (Sir James Barrie’s Peter and Wendy for Peter Pan, for example), architecture (the chateaux of Ludwig II of Bavaria) and landscape painting, as well as German Expressionist films and music.
On its only stop in North America, this exhibition is organized by the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Réunion des musées nationaux, Paris, is presented in Montreal in collaboration with METRO.
